The Belvidere Police Department is a multi-service oriented law enforcement agency located at 615 N. Main Street in the Belvidere-Boone County Public Safety Building. Forty-five sworn and five civilian personnel provide community police service to the 25,000+ residents of the City of Belvidere. These areas of service include administration, patrol, investigations, gang intervention, Neighborhood Watch, a school resource officer program and park patrol.

The Belvidere Police Department has taken steps to continue to proudly provide service and protection to all the citizens of the community. In addition our K-9 Unit and Community Service Officers are strong indications of the Police Department's dedication to Police service.

It is the mission of The Belvidere Police to provide a safe living, learning, and working environment to all citizens and visitors to the City of Belvidere.  The members of the Belvidere Police Department will work with all person(s) or groups to enforce, and assist in the prosecution of all violations of laws and ordinances to assure these safe environments.
